The Surveillance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of surveillance and security systems throughout tribal facilities and properties. This position ensures that all surveillance equipment, including cameras, recording devices, network components, and related security technologies, function properly to support safety, security, investigations, and regulatory compliance.

• Install, configure, and maintain surveillance cameras, network video recorders (NVR’s), video management systems and related equipment throughout the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas.
• Troubleshoot, and repair surveillance systems hardware, software and network connectivity issues.
• Install and maintain cabling, conduit, network infrastructure and power supplies for surveillance systems.
• Assist with the design, planning and implementation of surveillance projects and system expansions.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, maintenance activities and equipment inventories.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors and other departments regarding surveillance related projects.
• Configure and maintain camera settings, permissions and system access control.
• Travel to tribal facilities, ranches and remote properties to perform installations, maintenance and repairs.
• Operate department vehicles and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
• Work with highly confidential records/information and maintains confidentiality at all times.
• Ensure that surveillance coverage of all areas as required by the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas Internal Control Standards is established and recording at all times.
• All Surveillance Department employees are responsible to ensure that their designated operations are in compliance with Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas policies and procedures.
• All Surveillance Department employees must abide by Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas confidentiality policies. The release or divulging of any information obtained during the course of the job will be considered a breach of confidentiality and will be cause for immediate termination.
• May be called upon to serve as a Surveillance Officer if needed.
• Perform such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Surveillance Manager.

• Requires computer knowledge to include Excel, Microsoft Word and Access.
• Must possess excellent observational and communication skills.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret basic documents, such as policy and procedure manuals; ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situation.
• Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
• Ability to define problem, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders lifts and testing equipment safety.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
