Position: Home Visitor, Texas Home Visiting Program (Eagle Pass, TX)

Texas Home Visiting Program - Maverick Co.

Responsible for the prevention of child abuse and neglect through education and early intervention in Eagle Pass and Maverick County.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment of participants for the Texas Home Visiting Program.
  • Establish and maintain a trusting and professional working relationship with families by providing regular contact.
  • Utilize the PALS curriculum to provide parenting education sessions to caregivers of young children (5 to 18 months of age) in their homes to prevent abuse and neglect, promote positive outcomes for children, and support family well-being.
  • Administer data collection instruments and record data collected.
  • Document all services provided and maintain accurate participant charts.
  • Provide case management, resource and referrals, basic needs support, and/or other support services to families on caseload.
  • Obtain and maintain certification in the PALS curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED plus 60 college hours, associate degree, or bachelor's degree.
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) is required.
  • Two years related direct experience serving families preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to occasionally work some evening hours.
  • Reliable transportation, proof of insurance, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record are required.
