Eagle Point School District 9 (EPSD9) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support students in the MAPS (Modified Academic Program for Students) program at Hillside Elementary School. This role provides a unique opportunity to positively impact students with disabilities by implementing specialized instruction and fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Located in the beautiful Rogue Valley of southern Oregon, EPSD9 serves approximately 3,650 students in Eagle Point, White City and surrounding communities, offering a high quality of life.
Responsibilities- Evaluate, design, and implement specialized instruction tailored to students with disabilities.
- Serve as a member of the Student Services Team and assessment team, supporting individualized learning needs.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment to support academic and social‑emotional growth.
- Lead the development of special education programs and interventions in collaboration with staff and families.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal special education laws and maintain accurate student records and IEP documentation.
- Support and guide instructional assistants in delivering effective special education services.
- Current Oregon Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement.
- Strong collaborative and leadership skills, with a passion for working alongside general education teachers, specialists, and families.
- Experience designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs). Knowledge of special education laws and compliance requirements is highly valued.
