The main responsibility of the Domino's Pizza Delivery Driver is to deliver orders to designated locations on time. Punctuality and honesty are required from applicants for this position. Delivery drivers must know how to read a basic road map and deliver orders correctly, courteously, and on time. Vehicles should be well maintained before and after the shift. Drivers also aid in food preparation, take customer orders, perform cleaning duties, and rotate food shipments that may require lifting up to 50 pounds.
They must be knowledgeable about product details, services, and charges to provide accurate information to customers.
While performing the duties, team members may work outdoors in various temperatures, in noisy environments, near moving mechanical parts, with dangerous equipment or sharp tools, and around fumes, odors, dust, or toxic chemicals. The job can be physically demanding: it may require repetitive hand use, prolonged standing, bending, twisting, reaching above shoulder level, crouching, or kneeling.
Some specific duties of a Delivery Driver include:
- Pre‑Delivery vehicle preparations
- Learning the delivery area
- Checking orders for quality and accuracy
- Providing quality customer service through positive and professional interaction, in person or by phone
- Food preparation and packaging
- Taking orders and collecting payments
- Cleaning and maintaining the store and its equipment
- Rotating commissary deliveries
Compensation details:
Minimum wage plus reimbursement for gas consumption (currently $1.60 per run), data usage, and any credit card or cash tips paid directly to the driver.
- Have a sense of urgency in all aspects of the job
- Be customer‑focused with strong initiative
- Have cash management skills
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have a valid driver’s license under the laws of the state where the team member works, and have been licensed for two or more years
- Have an acceptable motor vehicle report/driving abstract, with no more than two moving violations and one accident in the last year. A DUI or speeding ticket over 25 mph disqualifies applicants
- Be insured and have a satisfactory vehicle
- Be able to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and as emergencies arise
- Be willing to learn and be comfortable with cross‑training to perform other workstation duties within the restaurant as needed, and work the above listed duties with reasonable accommodation if needed
