Job DescriptionCAREERX ASSISTANT
The position will be located throughout district high schools, primarily at BMHS.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $22.72 - 27.26 per hour

GOAL: The goal of CareerX is to provide students with meaningful college and career exploration opportunities that align with their interests, aspirations, and postsecondary goals.
SUPERVISED BY: Director of Postsecondary Learning & Career Readiness
ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS:
- Assist students with work-based learning experiences, including job shadows, internships, and apprenticeships.
- Match students with job shadow, internship, and apprenticeship opportunities that align with their career interests and goals.
- Prepare students for work-based learning experiences through pre‑visit planning, workplace readiness training, mock interviews, resume support, and postsecondary application assistance.
- Screen and support students participating in internships and apprenticeships to ensure program expectations and eligibility requirements are met.
- Arrange and coordinate job shadow experiences both on and off campus, including transportation when needed.
- Conduct follow‑up visits and maintain communication with students participating in internships and apprenticeships to ensure meaningful engagement and success.
- Guide students through reflection activities following job shadow and internship experiences.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local businesses and community partners to expand career exploration opportunities for students.
- Collect feedback from business partners and send follow‑up communications and notes of appreciation.
- Provide students with IEPs and 504 Plans job exploration counseling, work‑based learning experiences, workplace readiness training, and guidance regarding transition and postsecondary educational opportunities.
- Identify students who may be strong candidates for apprenticeship opportunities and assist with promoting and supporting apprenticeship programs.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of career fairs, job fairs, Career Expo events, and other postsecondary exploration activities.
- Support district‑wide postsecondary learning and career readiness initiatives while collaborating with counselors, administrators, teachers, and community partners.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred.
- Experience working with high school‑aged students in an educational, workforce development, career readiness, or youth‑serving environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners.
- Ability to organize, coordinate, and manage multiple projects and events simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Colorado driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets district requirements.
- Experience coordinating internships, apprenticeships, work‑based learning, or career exploration programs.
- Knowledge of postsecondary pathways, workforce development, career and technical education (CTE), or college and career readiness initiatives.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including students with IEPs and 504 Plans.
- Familiarity with local businesses, industry partners, and community organizations.
- Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
Position Type: 1.00 FTE
Salary: $22.72 to $27.26 Per Hour
