The Town of Eagle, Colorado seeks a civil engineering professional to support our growing community through the review, design, and construction of vital infrastructure projects. This position is suitable for early‑career engineers and licensed professionals seeking greater responsibility.
About the RoleAs a Civil Engineer you will support the Town Engineer in reviewing subdivision applications, development proposals, construction permits, and related engineering documents to ensure compliance with Town codes, standards, and infrastructure requirements.
Duties include:
- Managing capital improvement projects from conception through construction, including planning, design, permitting, bidding, and construction administration.
- Overseeing consultant teams and contractors for transportation, water, wastewater, stormwater, and other public infrastructure projects.
- Coordinating with developers, consultants, and regulatory agencies throughout the development review process.
- Preparing and maintaining Town engineering standards and specifications.
- Designing and preparing construction drawings and estimates for capital projects.
- Overseeing bidding and construction administration of public infrastructure.
- Inspecting and coordinating development‑related construction activities.
- Assisting with long‑range planning and capital improvement budgeting.
- Responding to public inquiries regarding traffic, drainage, and infrastructure.
Engineer I – Hiring range: $69,617.60 – $87,006.40 annually (maximum $). Entry‑level responsibilities under close supervision.
Engineer II – Hiring range: $92,331.20 – $ annually (maximum $). Mid‑advanced responsibilities under minimal supervision.
Requirements- Engineer I:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; enrolled as an Engineer Intern (EI) in Colorado; valid Colorado driver’s license with satisfactory driving record (obtainable within 30 days). - Engineer II:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; minimum 4 years of progressive engineering experience;
Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain within 1 year); valid Colorado driver’s license with satisfactory driving record (obtainable within 30 days).
- AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, MUTCD, AASHTO standards
- Traffic engineering, surveying, construction management
- Civil infrastructure construction materials, equipment, techniques
- Design and construction cost estimation for civil infrastructure projects
- CDOT design standards and project administration procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Full‑time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours weekly (7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.). May attend Town Council meetings and may have evening, weekend, or occasional telecommute opportunities after full training.
