Job Duties
Administer a cultural resources program, including performing compliance surveys and clearances, and coordinating with other resources.
Provide historical information, as part of cultural resource compliance needs, and interpretive information services to the public in various forms.
Formulate short and/or long-range plans and requirements for the management of archeological and historical resources.
Manage frequent and rapidly changing priorities and strategies and apply innovative management techniques for non-conforming resources.
Work with professional archeologists from other state and federal agencies, universities, museums, consulting firms, and research organizations in carrying out investigations necessary at significant prehistoric and historic sites.
Act as liaison between an organization and Native American groups on policies regarding Native American concerns and requests for archeological information.
Performs supervisory duties at least 25% of the time.
