Volunteer Program

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Eagle County School District.

How to Become a Volunteer

To become an approved volunteer, you must:

Complete the online volunteer application.

Complete a district background check.

Important

Most volunteers do NOT need fingerprinting.

Fingerprinting is required only for volunteers who will:

Serve as a coach
Participate in overnight field trips with students
Be issued a badge that provides access to district buildings

If your volunteer role does not include one of the activities listed above, no fingerprinting is required.

Once your application and required background screening have been approved, the school coordinator for the school you selected will contact you with next steps.

Step 1:
Complete the Online Volunteer Application

Complete the online application by clicking the "APPLY HERE" box at the top of this job description.

Step 2:
District Background Check

As part of the application process, Eagle County School District conducts a background check for all volunteers to help ensure the safety and security of students and staff.

For most volunteers, this is an instant background check conducted by the district.

No additional action is required from the volunteer for this step.

Step 3:
Fingerprinting (Only If Required)

Fingerprinting is required only for volunteers who will:

Serve as a coach
Participate in overnight field trips with students
Be issued a badge that provides access to district buildings

If your volunteer role does not include one of these activities, you do not need fingerprinting.

Please do not schedule a fingerprint appointment unless your volunteer role requires it.

Billing Information

You must use the billing code below so ECSD is charged correctly.

Fee Details

ECSD pays the $57.50 CBI/FBI background check fee.
Volunteers pay only the $10 vendor fee.
Payment must be made by credit or debit card.
No reimbursements will be issued.

Important:
If you do not use the billing code, you will be charged both the $57.50 CBI/FBI background check fee and the $10 vendor fee.

Fingerprinting Steps

Create an account or log in to Colorado Fingerprinting.

Select an Enrollment Center convenient for you (Copy Plus preferred).

Schedule an appointment.

Enter the billing code: 1417

Complete the pre-enrollment process.

Attend your appointment.

Fingerprint capture
Photo capture
Signature capture

Pay the $10 vendor fee.

Processing Time

Fingerprint results are typically returned to ECSD within 3–5 business days.

If fingerprints are rejected for quality (less than 1% of submissions):

You will be notified by email or phone.
You will receive instructions to reschedule at no additional cost.

Please Note:

ECSD is unable to provide fingerprint results directly to applicants.

Step 4:
Wait for Approval

Background check and fingerprinting results are sent directly to ECSD.

Once all required screening requirements have been completed and approved, you will be added to the district's approved volunteer list, which is accessible to all schools.

The school coordinator will then contact you with next steps.
