Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. • Help customers discover new items and answer inquiries about products.
• Inform customers of food specials and recommend appropriate grocery items.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review "sell by" dates.
• Provide customers with fresh and non‑perishable grocery products.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining temperature logs.
• Maintain product knowledge and answer customer questions with suggestions.
• Create an environment that welcomes customers and answers product questions throughout the store.
• Reinforce safety programs by following procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying managers of needed repairs.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
• Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
