Overview Associate Designer – Concept General Summary

The Associate Designer supports the Director of Concept & Creative Services as well as the SVP of Design in an exciting opportunity to dive into the world of trend analysis, styling, and storytelling. A multifaceted position, you will work on a variety of projects from trend decks and market research, to styling looks, helping execute showroom visuals, and preparing for design presentations.

This creative role will have significant exposure to senior leadership across multiple brands with the ability to bring their own fresh ideas to the table.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trend analysis using runway shows, forecasting services, social media, etc. filtered through the lens of the Catalyst lifestyle brands
  • Creating concept decks and visual tools for design & cross‑functional teams that present a strong trend, print, and color POV
  • Online and in person competitor market research
  • Styling looks for showrooms and presentations
  • Some administrative tasks as needed such as errands, managing organization of styling closet, unpacking samples, preparing showrooms etc.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Proficient in Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop. (After E!ects, Premier, and other video tools are also a plus)
  • Strong graphic design and layout skills
  • Strong image curation and styling taste level with ability to filter by brand and end use
  • A pulse on pop culture and the newest trends in youth and adult fashion markets
  • Strong organizational, written communication, and verbal presentation skills
  • Ability to bounce between multiple workflows at the di!erent brands and shift project priorities quickly
  • Detail oriented with a strong sense of follow through
  • Ability to do some hands‑on labor such as moving sample boxes, organizing the sample closet, etc. alongside the team as needed.
  • Adaptable working style with the ability to brainstorm and learn on the go in a fast‑paced environment.
QUALIFICTIONS:
  • Design or Fashion related degree (fashion, graphic design, etc.)
  • 1+ years fashion industry experience
  • Ability to work in person at our NYC office a minimum of 3 days per week.
  • Occasional travel within NYC Metro + elsewhere as needed
WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT:
  • Background in one or multiple of the following: styling, editorial work, fashion design, or graphic design disciplines. We love a jack of all trades and in this role you will get to flex lots of different muscles!
  • A strong portfolio that shows elevated taste level and layout ability
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
