POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Kids Ministry Director is a mission-aligned leader who provides spiritual, relational, and organizational leadership for children’s ministry at Eagle Hills Church, serving infants through 5th grade (ages 0–12) and their families.

This role exists to build a gospel-centered, fun, safe, and discipleship driven ministry that partners with families and helps children know Jesus, love Jesus, and follow Jesus. The Kids Ministry Director works closely with the Lead Pastor and church staff to ensure that kids ministry is aligned with the mission, vision, and values of Eagle Hills Church.

SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP & DISCIPLESHIP
  • Provide spiritual leadership for children and families.
  • Teach the Bible in engaging, age-appropriate, gospel-centered ways.
  • Develop discipleship pathways for children, including evangelism, baptism, and spiritual habits.
  • Create ministry environments that cultivate prayer, worship, Scripture engagement, and spiritual growth.
  • Model a life of faith and spiritual maturity for children, families, and volunteers.
VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT & DEVELOPMENT
  • Recruit, train, and equip a strong team of kids ministry volunteers.
  • Build a healthy volunteer pipeline with clear onboarding and training processes.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, encouragement, and care for volunteer leaders.
  • Multiply leaders by empowering others to lead rather than doing all ministry personally.
PROGRAM & SUNDAY MINISTRY LEADERSHIP
  • Oversee all kids ministry environments, including nursery, preschool, and elementary.
  • Design and lead creative, fun, safe, and engaging Sunday experiences.
  • Select or develop curriculum aligned with Eagle Hills’ theology and ministry philosophy.
  • Ensure classrooms are welcoming, organized, and age appropriate.
  • Collaborate with worship and teaching teams to align kids’ ministry with the broader church vision and mission.
FAMILY PARTNERSHIP & COMMUNICATION
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and caregivers.
  • Equip families with tools and resources as the primary disciple rs of their kids.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with families regarding ministry activities.
  • Serve as a visible and relational presence to help families feel known and supported.
SYSTEMS, SAFETY & EXCELLENCE
  • Maintain healthy systems for child safety, volunteer screening, and check-in procedures.
  • Ensure ministry practices align with church policies and best practices.
  • Manage kids’ ministry resources, supplies, and budgets with stewardship and care.
  • Continually evaluate and improve ministry effectiveness and volunteer systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A strong commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Eagle Hills Church.
  • A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • A genuine love for children and a passion for evangelism and discipleship.
  • Experience in kids’ ministry, youth ministry, education, or related fields preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability (or strong potential) to recruit and lead volunteers.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Creative, energetic, and able to engage children in meaningful ways.
  • Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple environments and leadership levels.
  • Emotionally intelligent, relational, and team oriented.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Part-time on-site position
  • Regular availability on Sundays & Tuesdays, flexibility for occasional midweek events, trainings or meetings.
  • Ability to maintain child safety standards and follow church policies.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating with staff and ministry leaders.
COMMITMENT
  • Part-Time Employment (20-30 hours/week)
  • Hourly or salaried compensation (determined by experience).
  • Reports to the Lead Pastor.
  • Three-month review, followed by annual performance evaluations.
