Crossing Guard
Assists students in crossing streets; performs related work as required.
Responsibilities- Provide a safe environment for students to cross busy streets at a crosswalk, corner, traffic signal, or other control point.
- Operate standard crosswalk and related safety equipment.
- Provide traffic and pedestrian control.
- Report hazardous conditions, traffic violations, or driver infractions to the building Principal or police as directed.
- Report student disciplinary actions and violations to a supervisor or the building Principal as directed.
- Perform all duties in accordance with district policies, procedures, and safety practices.
- May perform lunchroom, playground, bus, and other monitoring duties as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Basic knowledge of traffic laws, procedures, and pedestrian safety methods.
- Understanding of school rules, behavior requirements, and disciplinary modification techniques.
- Follow oral and written instructions and observe district policies and procedures.
- Discern emergencies and react appropriately.
- Prepare and maintain records, files, reports, logs, and statistics.
- Operate standard crosswalk and safety equipment.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, teachers, staff, and district personnel.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Maintain student and district confidentiality.
- Demonstrate integrity, ingenuity, and inventiveness in task performance.
- High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent experience and training.
- Clear speech and hearing for effective communication.
- Adequate visual acuity for reading, writing, and observing.
- Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motions and operate computer and office equipment.
- Mobility and balance to work in office and outdoor environments, lift up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, lift, and grasp.
- Must have valid Idaho driver's license and vehicle or personal transportation for job-related activities.

Terms of EmploymentAnnual determination. Regular attendance is essential. Employment is gible veterans are provided advantages in public employment in Idaho.
Noon DutyProvides supervision of students in the cafeteria and playground during lunch periods; performs related work as required.
Responsibilities- Provide a safe and supervised environment for students in the cafeteria, adjacent areas, and on the playground.
- Enforce school rules and administer disciplinary actions.
- Redirect unwanted behaviors and provide conflict resolution.
- Provide first aid assistance.
- Check sports and recreational equipment in and out.
- Ensure students return to class in a timely manner.
- Report hazardous conditions and serious disciplinary problems to a supervisor or the building Principal as directed.
- Perform all duties in accordance with district policies, procedures, and safety practices.
- May perform other monitoring duties as assigned.
- School rules and behavior requirements; disciplinary and behavior modification methods.
- Basic playground safety techniques.
- Follow oral and written instructions and observe district policies and procedures.
- Provide a safe environment for students in cafeteria and playground.
- Discern emergencies and react appropriately.
- Prepare and maintain records, files, reports, logs, statistics, and documentation.
- Operate standard playground and safety equipment.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Maintain student and district confidentiality.
- Demonstrate integrity, ingenuity, and inventiveness.
- High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent experience and training.
- Clear speech and hearing; effective communication in person and via two-way radio.
- Visual acuity to comprehend written instructions and observe student behavior.
- Manual dexterity to operate standard playground and safety equipment.
- Personal mobility, agility, strength, and reflexes to stand for long periods, walk, and work in cafeteria and playground; lift up to 20 lbs.
