The Director of Revenue Accounting leads all revenue‑related accounting for Pennant Group’s home health, hospice and home care services. This role ensures accurate, compliant revenue recognition under U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, CMS rules, and SOX 404 while partnering with operations, billing, finance and executive teams.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee end‑to‑end revenue accounting for Home Health (PDGM), Hospice (Medicare per‑diem, caps), and Home Care/Personal Care programs.
- Own ASC 606 technical positions, policies and revenue models; approve monthly revenue entries, reconciliations and reserves.
- Ensure accurate Medicare/Medicaid reporting – allowances, LUPA/RAP impacts, hospice cap accruals and settlement reserves and support quarterly/annual audit processes.
- Build and maintain SOX‑compliant revenue and billing controls; manage documentation, testing and remediation with Internal Audit.
- Partner with Revenue Cycle, FP&A, Clinical Ops, Compliance, IT and lead the revenue accounting team.
- Support M&A due diligence, integrations and system conversions.
- Oversee month‑end close and reporting; deliver analytics, trends and variance insights to leadership.
- Drive automation and standardization across revenue workflows, improve financial system integrations and data integrity, and lead ongoing process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
- 8+ years progressive accounting experience, including 3+ in leadership roles.
- Strong ASC 606 and healthcare revenue expertise; public company/SOX 404 experience.
- Knowledge of home health, hospice and Medicaid/managed care reimbursement.
- Experience with post‑acute systems such as HCHB, Matrix Care, Kan Time or Well Sky.
- Multi‑state healthcare operations and M&A integration experience.
- Big Four or national firm experience.
- Experience with post‑acute systems and multi‑state health operations.
- Expert in GAAP/ASC 606 and healthcare reimbursement.
- Strong leadership and influence in high‑growth environments.
