to build and lead a comprehensive risk management strategy that protects our people, operations, assets, reputation, and future growth.
This is a newly created role with significant visibility and influence across the organization, partnering directly with executive leadership, operational leaders, lending partners, insurers, brokers, and key stakeholders.
About the Role
The Director of Loss Prevention & Risk Management
is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading Cascadia Healthcare's company-wide risk management strategy. This role directs and oversees risks impacting the organization, its employees, residents, assets, reputation, operations, and stakeholders.
Reporting to the President of Cascadia Services, this individual will serve as a strategic business partner responsible for identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks that may affect organizational performance, regulatory compliance, insurance costs, financing opportunities, operational effectiveness, and long-term growth.
This position will also serve as the organization's senior safety leader, building and overseeing safety programs while establishing the long-term risk management infrastructure needed to support Cascadia Healthcare's continued expansion. You will balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, building programs, creating processes, analyzing data, driving organizational adoption, and influencing leaders across all levels of the organization.
What You''ll Do
- Design, implement, and continuously improve Cascadia Healthcare's company-wide risk management framework and strategy.
- Identify, assess, prioritize, and monitor risks affecting the organization, including operational, financial, regulatory, reputational, insurance, safety, compliance, and strategic business risks.
- Establish risk management processes that support sustainable organizational growth and operational excellence.
- Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to reduce organizational exposure and business disruption.
- Advise executive leadership on risks that may impact profitability, growth, financing opportunities, operational performance, or the long-term viability of the organization.
- Establish risk tolerance guidelines and reporting processes that provide visibility, accountability, and decision-making support.
- Create executive-level reporting and dashboards that communicate key risks, trends, and recommendations.
- Help build a proactive culture of risk awareness and accountability across the organization.
Safety Leadership & Compliance
- Develop, maintain, and standardize company-wide safety policies and programs across all locations.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA requirements, state licensing standards, fire and life safety regulations, infection prevention requirements, and emergency preparedness programs.
- Design and oversee safety training programs, including role-specific training requirements and recurring education schedules.
- Maintain incident reporting, investigation, escalation, and corrective action processes.
- Lead responses to serious workplace incidents, high-risk events, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Conduct or oversee facility safety audits and inspections and ensure timely resolution of identified risks.
- Analyze trends related to injuries, incidents, hazards, falls, fire drills, inspections, and compliance activities to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and present monthly and quarterly safety performance dashboards to executive leadership.
- Partner with operational leaders to embed safety as a core organizational value and business imperative.
Workers' Compensation & Claims Management
- Direct the organization's workers' compensation strategy, programs, and claims management processes.
- Serve as the primary liaison with brokers, carriers, third-party administrators, and vendor partners.
- Develop and improve return-to-work programs that support employees while reducing claim duration and organizational costs.
- Monitor claim trends and implement strategies to reduce injury frequency, claim severity, and overall workers' compensation expenses.
- Benchmark organizational performance against industry standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure timely reporting, documentation, and resolution of claims.
Insurance & Loss Prevention
- Oversee the organization's insurance portfolio, including workers' compensation, general liability, automobile, and related coverages.
