Youth Development
The YWCA empowers survivors of domestic violence through support services such as safe shelter, advocacy, and weekly support groups. Our goal is to help participants build financial stability and confidence while planning for their future. We are seeking a motivated Ameri Corps VISTA member to develop a financial empowerment program that strengthens our current efforts. The member will design a participant-friendly curriculum covering financial management topics, create pre- and post-session surveys, and develop tools to gather participant feedback.
They will consult experts in banking and financial management, identify resources and materials for classes, develop a facilitator guide and position description, and research potential funding sources to support long-term program sustainability. Ideal candidates are organized, collaborative, and passionate about supporting survivors. Strong research, program development, and communication skills are essential. Experience in financial literacy, nonprofit programs, or education is highly valued.
This VISTA opportunity provides hands‑on experience in program development and capacity-building within a nonprofit setting. Members will make a direct impact by creating a program that will continue to serve survivors for years to come. Training, networking, and professional development opportunities are provided, and the member will leave lasting resources for YWCA staff and participants. This 12‑month opportunity includes trauma‑informed training, research, curriculum development, survey creation, evaluation, and recommendations for sustainability.
Join us in empowering survivors and helping them achieve financial confidence and independence!
