Job DescriptionThe position will be 190 days/7.5 hours per day paid on teacher salary scale.
Board qualifications:
South Carolina Certification in Middle Level or Secondary Math. Master’s Degree Preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as the Interventionist for struggling students.
- Responsible for development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of students; informs principal and Instructional Services of classroom/student needs.
- Instructs students experiencing difficulty in Math.
- Analyzes records and iReady data and participates in discussions on lesson implementation at school and district level.
- Implements individual and small group instruction based on assessment data for identified students.
- Provides lessons to help students achieve higher SC Academic Standards.
- Works closely with principal and Instructional Services to ensure proper use of curriculum resources.
- Attends all required professional development reflection sessions for fully implementing district delivery method for assisting struggling readers.
- Prepares data analysis of students at the school to ensure ongoing measured progress.
- Maintains equipment inventory of materials/equipment purchased to facilitate position requirements.
- Stays current on guidelines and procedures related to best practices in delivering ELA instruction.
- Current South Carolina Teacher’s Certificate.
- At least three years of successful classroom teaching and/or supervision experience preferred.
- Competence in classroom teaching, school-community relations, educational planning, and program evaluation.
- Graduate degree preferred; concentration in instruction and/or mathematics.
- Knowledgeable of curriculum, instruction, evaluation procedures, and financial operations.
