Position

We are looking for team members who value customer service, relationship building, and a sense of urgency, especially in helping customers. A Network Specialist will design, implement, and maintain the client’s network security infrastructure, protecting against malware, hacking, and breaches by configuring firewalls, IDS/IPS, performing incident response, and developing security policies to safeguard sensitive data and ensure network resilience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of network environment development and production for customer locations and internal use.
  • Set up and configure network equipment (firewalls, switches, access points, failover routers) for customer locations and internal use.
  • Assist in creating test/sandbox environments for internal and customer configuration and rule‑change testing.
  • Provide installation assistance to internal technicians and clients.
  • Offer real‑time support to internal technicians and telephone support to customers.
  • Execute testing, scheduling, and deployment of firmware and security updates across all devices.
  • Maintain tracking and management of deployments and changes in adherence to ITIL best practices.
  • Conduct continuous monitoring of security events detected by hardware appliances.
  • Collaborate with management to implement incident‑response protocols and mitigate threats.
  • Ensure all customer systems are patched within the target window.
  • Assist with endpoint protection configuration, monitoring, and incident response.

Requirements
  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience developing, operating, and maintaining network systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of operating system and database security.
  • Proficiency in networking technologies, network security, and network monitoring solutions.
  • Knowledge of security systems including anti‑malware applications, content filtering, firewalls, authentication systems, and intrusion detection and notification systems.
  • In‑depth knowledge of security protocols and principles.
  • Critical‑thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems.
Skills
  • Deep knowledge of networking (TCP/IP), operating systems, security protocols, and SIEM/EDR platforms.
  • Analytical skills – strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail for threat analysis.
  • Scripting/automation – proficiency in Python, Power Shell, or similar to automate tasks.
  • Threat intelligence – understanding of current threats (malware, phishing, APTs) and attack vectors.
  • Communication – excellent written and verbal skills for documentation and collaboration.
  • Certifications – relevant certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, GIAC) are preferred.
  • Mindset – proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to work under pressure in a 24/7 environment.
Compensation

Salary: $52,000 per year.
