Material Handler
The Material Handler is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely movement, storage, and distribution of materials throughout a modern manufacturing and warehouse facility. This role directly supports production operations by ensuring raw materials, work-in-process inventory, finished goods, packaging materials, and empty containers are delivered and removed as needed. The Material Handler maintains inventory accuracy, follows established warehouse and logistics procedures, operates material handling equipment, and ensures compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and inventory control standards.
Responsibilities
- Receive, store, retrieve, and move materials within warehouse and production areas to support daily operational requirements.
- Transport raw materials, semi-finished goods, finished products, packaging materials, and empty containers throughout the facility using approved material handling equipment, including forklifts.
- Perform internal transportation of tools, equipment, and other materials as required to support manufacturing and logistics activities.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to production areas to maintain uninterrupted manufacturing operations and minimize downtime.
- Follow established warehouse management and inventory control procedures, including executing SAP transactions and meeting material movement requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and process material transfers between designated storage locations in accordance with company standards.
- Verify quantities of returned materials and record inventory discrepancies through counting, weighing, and system transactions.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activities while maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy.
- Comply with established storage and inventory rotation practices, including adherence to First-In, First-Out (FIFO) requirements.
- Inspect materials and products for visible damage, packaging issues, or labeling discrepancies and promptly report concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Properly segregate and dispose of scrap materials in accordance with environmental, safety, and company guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety standards and housekeeping expectations.
- Communicate material shortages, inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, process deviations, or other concerns to the appropriate supervisor or manager in a timely manner.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with special projects that enhance warehouse, logistics, and production efficiency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall facility operations.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $44000.00 - $45000.00/yr. 401(k) Matching:
