Position: (USA) Senior Meat Cutter

Position Summary

As a Senior Meat Cutter you will drive sales in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.

What you’ll do
  • Be a Team Member:
    Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and help educate other associates on tools, tasks and resources. Communicate effectively, develop interpersonal skills for providing customer service, be flexible to the needs of the business, track goods, maintain inventory levels and control shrinkage.
  • Be an Expert:
    Maintain an in‑depth knowledge of the various types and seasonality of different meat products, equipment usage and back‑room operations. Provide meat products to members by processing meat according to specifications for example cutting, slicing, grinding and wrapping meat products, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines and inventory management. Operate, maintain and sanitize equipment.
  • Be a Techie:
    Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience and elevate associate engagement utilizing handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training and product quality with the member in mind. Adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
  • Be an Owner:
    Drive the business results ensuring commitment to operational excellence. Plan for profitability, maintain a work area according to company policies and procedures, ensure quality and standards for high‑volume meat products, eliminate waste, secure fragile and high‑shrink merchandise. Assist members with purchasing decisions and ensure merchandise is properly packaged, labeled and stored.
  • Be a Talent Ambassador:
    Advocate for the department and the club by valuing the member experience in the meat area and modeling high‑quality service and products. Execute the basics at the highest possible level of quality, interact with associates to understand roadblocks and assist in training them to perform job‑related duties as assigned.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, using the Open Door Policy and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data and resources. Collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers and other business partners to identify priorities, deadlines and expectations, carry out tasks, communicate progress, recommend improvement opportunities and adapt to change.
  • Act with Integrity:
    Maintain and promote the highest standards of integrity, ethics and compliance. Model Walmart values to support a culture of belonging, hold oneself and others accountable, and support Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 6 months’ experience working in a fresh production department.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to successfully complete all job‑required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a Meat Processing Area.
