District Technology Coordinator

Starting Date: Immediately

• Manage all support for network, hardware and software
• Work with administrators to gather requirements, select the technologies that provide the best solution, identify the products available that will best fit the solution proposed, and integrate with the existing IT infrastructure
• Ensure compliance with all software licensing agreements; manage and safeguard software media and associated licenses; track software versions; maintain centralized software use log
• Stay abreast of industry trends and make recommendations regarding the enhancement of technology and systems capabilities in all aspects of Information Technology
• Participate in training on all emerging technology systems for current and new facilities
• Develop and support new technology initiatives such as camera systems, badge readers, and phone systems
• Coordinate training for all staff as technology systems are implemented
• Prepare and administer the portion of the district’s budget related to informational services and educational technology
• Authorize preventive maintenance as well as general repair and replacement and all technology related purchases according to district standards
• Review and update Acceptable Use Policy for students and staff as needed
• Develop District Technology Plan and submit annual report to DESE
• Facilitate the transition to the Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF) data system providing vertical, real time data updating between DESE and District
• Disseminate technology-related information throughout the district via email, newsletters, and presentations at district, building level and community meetings
• Serve as the technology liaison to the local community and outside agencies
• Coordinate services with outside support vendors; perform special projects that fall outside the scope of vendor support
• Facilitate the integration of technology across the curriculum, functioning as a resource for school administrators and instructional staff
• Perform other appropriate related duties as assigned by the Superintendent

Twelve month work year.
Position Type: Full-time

• Strong background in technology including experience with operating systems, hardware, networking and telecommunications
• Knowledge of installing, configuring and troubleshooting current operating systems and other applications
• Demonstrated experience integrating technology into all aspects of school operations
• Knowledge of software and hardware used in schools
• Experience working with students and educators in the technology field
• Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
• At least 3 years of relevant experience (preferred)
• Master’s degree (preferred)
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
