The Support Teacher/Closer will play a versatile role in supporting the Leadership and Administration teams while helping to ensure the school operates in a clean, organized, safe, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide administrative support to the Leadership team, including filing, organizing paperwork, preparing materials, and assisting with other operational tasks as needed.
- Support daily closing procedures, including cleaning, organizing, and sanitizing classrooms and common areas.
- Assist with laundry and kitchen closing responsibilities to ensure the school is prepared for the following day.
- Provide classroom coverage and general supervision as needed, maintaining a safe, positive, and engaging environment for children.
- Step into classroom responsibilities when necessary, including supporting routines, transitions, activities, and behavior management.
- In the absence of the Lead Teacher, implement the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum and follow established lesson plans and classroom routines.
- Provide opportunities for children to explore, manipulate, and engage with a variety of materials and resources through both structured learning activities and active play.
- Maintain a classroom environment that is safe, organized, engaging, and productive and collaborate with the Team to ensure consistency in classroom expectations and school procedures.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to assist wherever needed to support the overall success of the school and its students.
- Must meet basic requirements of local child-care regulatory agency
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, flexible, and comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with hands-on work in the classroom. This position requires someone who can take initiative, work collaboratively, and confidently step into different responsibilities based on the needs of the school.
