The Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in East Brunswick, NJ. This role involves conducting educational evaluations to identify student learning needs, interpreting assessment data, and participating in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The individual collaborates closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to design and implement instructional strategies and accommodations that support students with learning disabilities.

Daily responsibilities include consulting on curriculum modifications, monitoring student progress, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with district and state special education regulations. The role also includes participating in Child Study Team meetings, contributing to professional development, and promoting inclusive practices across the district.

• Possession of appropriate New Jersey certification as a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (or eligibility to obtain certification).
• Demonstrated expertise in educational assessment, including administering and interpreting standardized tests and diagnostic measures.
• Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and best practices for supporting students with learning disabilities.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to design and recommend evidence-based instructional strategies, accommodations, and interventions.
• Experience in K–12 settings and familiarity with general education curriculum and inclusive classroom practices.
• Organizational skills for managing caseloads, documentation, and compliance timelines.
• Commitment to equity, cultural responsiveness, and creating supportive learning environments for diverse learners.
• Master’s degree in special education or related field preferred; prior experience in a school-based special education role is an advantage.
