Senior Resident Engineer - Road & Bridge Projects

Job Overview

GFT is seeking a Resident Engineer to join our Construction Services Group in New Jersey. The role leads critical construction efforts on large-scale roadway and bridge transportation projects.

• Provide overall leadership and management for construction projects.
• Maintain comprehensive construction project records.
• Oversee interactions with clients and inspection staff on contract change orders, item payments, and material testing.
• Conduct project meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
• Develop monthly progress reports.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Structural, or Construction Engineering.
• Professional Engineering (PE) License in New Jersey – preferred.
• Certifications such as TCC, NJSAT, and ACI – preferred.
• 10–15 years of experience in construction management.
• Prior experience as an Assistant Resident Engineer or Resident Engineer.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to project sites.
• Experience with NJDOT and/or NJTA inspection procedures, specifications, and documentation requirements.

• Experience with airport projects.
• Certifications such as Rutgers TCC, NJSAT, ACI.

The salary range for this role is $155,000 - $220,000 per year. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
