Position Overview:
We are seeking a civil engineering professional to join our growing team based in East Brunswick, NJ. This role is ideal for a candidate with 2–5 years of experience who is interested in public-sector work and wants to continue building a long-term career through meaningful project responsibility, mentorship, and a clear path toward licensure and advancement. In this role, you’ll contribute to a wide range of municipal engineering disciplines, including transportation, water and wastewater, stormwater, and infrastructure, while gaining deeper involvement in how projects move from planning and review through design, permitting, construction, and completion.
This opportunity is well-suited for someone who has developed a solid technical foundation and is ready to build on it through greater ownership, direct municipal exposure, and a clear path toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Municipal Review & Technical Analysis
- Review site plans, subdivision and land development applications, and capital improvement projects for compliance with municipal ordinances, engineering standards, and applicable regulations
- Prepare technical review letters, engineering reports, and written recommendations for municipal clients, boards, and internal teams
- Support and, as appropriate, participate in planning board and zoning board meetings, responding to engineering comments and coordinating with applicants and stakeholders
- Apply engineering judgment to evaluate drainage, grading, roadway, utility, and stormwater components of development and public infrastructure projects
- Engineering & Design
- Prepare and contribute to the design of municipal infrastructure improvements, including roadway, drainage, utility, and site-related projects
- Assist in the development of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting technical documentation for municipal capital improvement projects
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis related to grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility systems, and roadway design
- Coordinate with internal disciplines and external agencies to support project delivery and regulatory compliance
- Construction Administration
- Support construction-phase services for municipal projects, including submittal review, RFIs, field observations, contractor coordination, and documentation of field conditions
- Assist in evaluating field issues and recommending practical solutions in coordination with senior engineers and municipal clients
- Contribute to project closeout activities and help ensure construction aligns with approved plans and specifications
- Team Collaboration & Development
- Work closely with experienced engineers and municipal professionals in a collaborative environment that supports continued technical and professional growth
- Take increasing ownership of assignments while receiving mentorship aligned with Artheon’s commitment to internal advancement and PE-track development
- Participate in professional development initiatives and contribute to a team culture focused on quality, responsiveness, and long-term client relationships
