the township of east brunswick is accepting applications for a full-time position of civilian dispatcher within the department of public safety. The successful candidate will perform a variety of duties to process requests for emergency and non-emergency assistance and dispatch appropriate service unit(s) in a timely manner.
qualificationsknowledge, skills, & abilities: must be able to communicate effectively under pressure and handle emergency situations with skills that depict both urgency and calmness. Must possess the ability to multi-task and have file based organizational skills. Must display a working knowledge and be proficient in computers and computer-based software.
special requirements- experience: previous public safety dispatch experience is preferred
- education: high school diploma or equivalent
- licensing & certification: the possession of 9-1-1 basic telecommunicator, cpr, and emergency medical dispatch certification is not required but preferred.
