Preanalytical Processing Clerk

Job Summary

Aculabs is currently looking for individuals who are excited about working in a laboratory setting to join our team in East Brunswick, New Jersey. The Preanalytical Processing Clerk will be responsible for accurately entering laboratory test orders into the Laboratory Information System, generating labels, and ensuring that specimens are properly labeled, organized, and prepared for further laboratory testing. This position rotates between data entry and specimen labeling responsibilities to support overall workflow.

• Receive and review test requisition forms for accuracy and completeness.
• Resolve discrepancies or missing/unclear information by communicating with facilities or supervisors
• Generate barcode labels and ensure correct matching to requisition forms and specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing
• Rotate between accessioning/verification tasks and labeling/specimen preparation tasks as directed by the supervisor.

• Strong computer skills; must be able to type efficiently and navigate Windows quickly
• Comfort working with biohazardous materials and using appropriate PPE at all times
• Strong attention to detail
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Previous experience in a healthcare, laboratory, or medical office environment (preferred)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
