About the Role: The Residential Counselor in East Brunswick, NJ plays a crucial role in providing support and guidance to individuals in a residential care setting. This position focuses on fostering a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the emotional and psychological well-being of residents. The counselor will work with clients to develop personalized care plans that address their needs and goals, facilitate daily activities and therapeutic interventions, and help residents build essential life skills and independence.
The major end result is to empower individuals to lead fulfilling lives with the necessary support for their mental health and personal development.

Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm - Open shifts available are part-time:
Saturday and Sunday 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm - Full-time shifts:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm - Full-time shifts:
Wednesday 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in a healthcare or social services setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
- Previous experience in a residential counseling role
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
- Provide direct support and supervision to residents in a residential care facility
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the treatment team
- Facilitate group and individual activities that promote social skills, emotional regulation, and personal growth
- Monitor residents' progress and document observations in accordance with established protocols
- Serve as a liaison between residents, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Strong communication abilities

- Crisis intervention techniques (preferred)
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
