Inventory & Hardware Technician (Part-Time)

Location: On-site

Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week

Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexible within this window)

Pay Rate: $24 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory & Hardware Technician to support hardware receiving, inspection, testing, and logistics operations. This role is responsible for ensuring devices are properly received, tested, documented, configured for connectivity, and prepared for deployment to sites across the United States.

Key Responsibilities

1. Inventory Receipt & Inspection

• Receive incoming hardware shipments
• Verify quantities and inspect condition against packing lists

2. Hardware Power-On Testing

• Perform initial power-on testing to confirm devices boot correctly

3. Labeling & Documentation

• Apply asset tags to all devices
• Maintain accurate records including serial numbers, MAC addresses, and device status

4. Internet Connectivity Setup

• Connect devices to the internet to enable remote access and configuration

5. Firmware Upgrades (Remote Team Coordination)

• Support and coordinate with a remote team performing firmware upgrades after connectivity is established

6. Basic Validation Testing

• Conduct basic functionality checks following firmware upgrades

7. Repackaging & Kitting

• Repackage devices with required accessories and documentation
• Assemble site-specific deployment kits

8. Logistics Coordination

• Prepare and manage outbound shipments to approximately 900 sites across the USA

Qualifications

• Experience with hardware handling, IT equipment, or inventory management preferred
• Basic understanding of networking and device connectivity
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Ability to lift and handle hardware packages as needed
• Reliable, organized, and able to follow standardized processes
