In-School Solutions-RR Teacher

ISS-RR Teacher is to provide academic support for multiple content areas and direct instruction for math and/or language arts. Teacher is to create a classroom environment for students to learn effectively and cause minimal disruption to their learning. Teacher will follow Indiana State Standards for courses taught.

Candidate must have an appropriate Indiana teaching license in any content area or be eligible for license based on education and enrollment in a teaching program.

Special Education endorsement preferred.

• Assist all students with the completion of academic assignments
• Provide additional academic resources to all students
• Communicate with General Education teachers to access their assignments on Canvas and possibly re-teach
• Communicate with Principals, Assist. Principals, and Deans as to attendance within ISS-RR classroom
• Communicate with Principals, Assist. Principals and Deans as to the reporting of academic and behavioral services provided within Panorama and/or Skyward
• Coordinate support with Teachers of Record for EL and special education students
• Coordinate with EL and Special Education Resource teachers to allow scholars to either obtain electronic video access to instruction or arrange for them to attend the resource class in-person for this class only
• Coordinate support with Case Managers, Social Workers and Counselors for students in special education
• Communicate with the Behavior Specialist for Special Education to develop and ensure behavioral interventions are established
• Collaborate with the Dean of Students to ensure behavioral interventions are completed with fidelity for students with multiple infractions
• Provide additional support for students who may be serving multiple days of corrective action due to conduct infraction by collaborating with social workers and counselors
• The ISS-RR classroom teacher will monitor all students who have to serve an In-School Suspension.
• The ISS-RR teacher will need to make sure the reporting for time spent during an In-School Solution was documented accurately within Skyward.
• The Special Education department will provide resources for behavioral interventions based on the pattern of the student’s behavior as identified by a file review and or FBA process.

Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; hear and understand speech at normal levels; physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds; to bend, to stoop, to sit on the floor, to climb stairs, to walk and to reach overhead
