Job Description:
The graduation coach will provide additional support to students who are in Tiers 2 and 3 for graduation support.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field. Candidates without a license are also encouraged to apply
Experience working with at-risk youth in a school setting
Knowledge of high school graduation requirements, academic interventions, and strategies for supporting struggling students.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff Familiarity with data analysis tools and student progress monitoring systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Works on the SST team with counselors, social workers, and assistant principal to address the needs of students who are credit deficient and/or failing classes. The students have been identified for needing additional Tier 2 and Tier 3 academic support.
* Receives weekly grade reports from our counselors and identifies students with multiple Os and Fs. Coach can also access the grade report from Skyward and Panorama. Calls down the students to work with them on improving their grades and academic habits. These turn into either weekly or bi-weekly check-ins with students. They also communicate with parents.
* Teachers will email the grad coach and ask them to reach out to students from their classes who are struggling. They talk to students, form relationships, and become an advocate for the student.
* Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to identify students' academic needs and develop personalized academic plans.
* Help parents and guardians understand graduation requirements, credit recovery options, and the importance of academic engagement.
* The assistant principal, counselors, and grad coach have weekly meetings to discuss students and review what interventions are in place to assist them.
* The grad coach each help to supervise.
* The grad coach all have hallway passing period supervision duties.
* The grad coach offices are near the counselors.
