Field Service Engineer - Power Control Equipment

Position Overview

We are looking for Field Service Engineers to support critical power facilities. There are three positions based in the Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati Ohio area. This role requires a qualified, hands‑on, service‑oriented technician to be involved with automatic transfer switch startups, modifications, warranty, and emergency calls. Applicants should desire to learn and advance to the Field Service Engineer level.

• Carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Focus on work related to automatic transfer switches.
• Provide technical support for field startups (standard and non‑standard systems), warranty efforts, remedial repairs, and preventive maintenance contracts.
• Supervise and ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, guidelines, and laws.
• Conduct client communication in a highly customer‑service‑oriented manner and potentially expand the scope of project work, as well as negotiate any extra charges associated with work performed.
• All work and decisions shall be conducted in strict compliance with all regulatory laws.
• Travel requirements: up to 80% travel.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / GED.
• 3+ years experience with:
• • Field Service Engineering.
  • Electrical power including low voltage through medium voltage switch gear in support of critical power facilities (data centers, airports, etc.).
  • Experience with most types of automatic transfer switch testing.
  • Reading schematics and blueprints for power control, automation, and customer technical support.
  • Familiarity with all applicable codes and industry standards.
  • Proficient in handling client interactions and completing projects on time and within budget guidelines.
  • Strong project management skills with excellent decision‑making, organization, and management capabilities.
  • Must be self‑directed and very committed to customer satisfaction.
• Individuals must possess a valid Driver’s license in good standing.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of field service within the power distribution/protection industry.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Excellent customer service, time management and follow‑up skills.
• Power distribution, DC/AC, voltage circuit theory and practical troubleshooting skills.

• The pay range for this position is $57,120 – $97,920 plus travel and overtime. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget, candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
• The position can be filled at a higher or lower level.
