Barnes Aerospace is currently offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus to qualified CNC Machinists.
Why This Role ExistsThis role exists to support precision aerospace manufacturing programs across multi‑axis milling operations. At Barnes Aerospace, this position plays a key role in producing complex components using modern CNC equipment in a structured, team‑based environment.
The Work You’ll Be Doing- Set up and operate 3‑, 4‑, and 5‑axis CNC milling machines.
- Run multiple machines within machining cells when feasible.
- Perform job setups, changeovers, and tooling adjustments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, operation sheets, and CNC programs at the machine.
- Machine aerospace components from raw material to finished part.
- Work with hard metals including Inconel, Titanium, and Stainless Steel.
- Load parts and fixtures manually or using hoists and lifting equipment.
- Use Fanuc controls and make offsets as required by the program.
- Perform in‑process inspection using precision measuring tools.
- Maintain tight tolerances (thousandths) on precision components.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
You’ll work with equipment such as:
- Machines: Multi‑axis CNC milling machines from Doosan, Mazak, Okuma, Matsuura, Mori Seiki, and Johnford.
- Controls: Fanuc.
- Inspection Tools: Gauges, swing gauges, calipers, micrometers.
- Equipment: Hoists, fixtures, right‑angle heads.
- Inconel
- Titanium
- Stainless Steel
- Aerospace‑grade alloys
- 3+ years of CNC milling experience (multi‑axis preferred).
- Experience setting up and operating CNC machines.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
- Strong math skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Experience working with tight tolerances.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Experience running multiple machines in a cell environment.
- Experience working with exotic materials.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls.
- Stable aerospace manufacturing programs.
- Modern multi‑axis CNC equipment.
