This contract role exists to support aerospace production demand requiring high‑precision grinding and finishing operations
. At Barnes Aerospace, this position plays a critical role in delivering tight‑tolerance components using HEDG and advanced grinding processes, helping maintain throughput on key aerospace programs.

In this role, you will:

• Set up and operate CNC grinding machines in a precision aerospace environment
• Perform high‑efficiency deep grinding (HEDG) and other grinding operations
• Machine components to tight tolerances and exact specifications
• Make program edits, offset adjustments, and tooling changes as needed
• Read and interpret blueprints, operation sheets, and work instructions
• Verify dimensions using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, depth gages, height gages, and verniers
• Perform in‑process inspection to ensure part quality and compliance
• Work with exotic materials including Inconel, Rene, and other aerospace alloys
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve machining and quality issues

You’ll work with equipment such as:

• Machines: CNC grinding machines, including HEDG and precision grinding equipment (Campbell grinders and similar)
• Controls: Fanuc and other CNC control systems depending on equipment
• Inspection Tools: micrometers, depth gages, height gages, verniers, and other precision measuring tools

• Inconel
• Rene alloys
• Titanium
• Stainless Steel
• Aerospace‑grade materials

• 3+ years of CNC grinding or machining experience
• Experience setting up and operating CNC grinding equipment
• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
• Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills
• Experience holding tight tolerances
• Ability to use precision measuring tools
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a team environment

• Experience with HEDG or precision grinding operations
• Aerospace manufacturing experience
• Experience machining exotic materials (Inconel, Rene alloys)
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls
