Job TitleProduction Operator II
- Swing
- Operate multiple basic production machines and/or a single complex, technical production equipment to manufacture parts in compliance with work order instructions and quality requirements.; makes machine adjustments and contacts appropriate person when needed
- Monitor machine performance and product quality while making basic process adjustments as required.
- Inspects parts to determine if product meets quality/ customer specifications by performing dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, laser micrometers, drop gauges, and calipers
- Verify product conformance to customer and quality specifications and take appropriate action when non-conforming material is identified.
- Record production information and transfer parts to the next operation through company software systems.
- Load, unload, wash, and handle materials and products throughout the manufacturing process.
- Transfers parts to next process via computer software
- Manage multiple machines and processes simultaneously while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Follow established operating procedures for machine start-up, operation, monitoring, and shutdown.
- Handle oils, cleaning agents, solvents, and other process materials in accordance with safety requirements.
- Transport product using hand trucks, forklifts, cranes, or hoists as required.
- Clean work areas, machines, tools, and equipment to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Trains incoming operators on processes and procedures
- Wears required personal protective equipment at all times in areas where mandatory
- Communicate quality concerns, process deviations, and equipment issues to appropriate leadership in a timely manner.
- Support continuous production flow and departmental objectives while maintaining attention to detail and product quality
- Monday
- Friday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm EST - May train on day shift for 4 - 6 weeks
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not necessary
- Minimum of six (6) months manufacturing, production, assembly, machine operation, or industrial experience preferred.
- Stable work history demonstrating reliability and attendance strongly preferred.
- Understand and act on verbal and/or written instructions
- Read/interpret standard and metric measurements to extremely tight tolerances
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Experience using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, laser micrometers, drop gauges, and calipers.
- Ability to work with positive and negative numbers, decimals, and basic mathematical calculations.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing software systems such as Apriso and SAP.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written work instructions.
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Assess product quality deficiencies to determine disposition; reporting to appropriate person
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working around industrial production equipment.
- Ability to safely work in an environment involving oils, solvents, degreasers, and other manufacturing materials.
- Ability to multitask and monitor several machines or processes simultaneously.
- Must exhibit attention to detail as well as excellent listening skills
- Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
- Prior machine operation or manufacturing experience.
- Experience using precision measurement equipment.
- Experience working in a production environment with tight tolerances and quality requirements.
- Experience in automotive, industrial manufacturing, metalworking, machining, assembly, or similar light-to-medium industrial environments.
Hourly: USD 17.97 - USD 21.64
