Manufacturing Quality Manager
- Develop and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
- Formulate and maintains quality control objectives and coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
- Direct, through intermediate personnel, workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
- Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring work activities, such as preparation of records of expenditures and progress reports, in order to inform management of current status or work activities.
- Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product quality and reliability.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assists employees in solving work problems.
- Assisting with recruiting, hiring, training staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
- Interpret company policy to employees and enforces company policy and practices.
- May investigate and adjust customer complaints regarding quality.
- Support and create effective teams, units, and environments.
- Impact and promote organizational strategy and vision.
- Create linkages for employees on how they impact business strategy.
- Complete objectives through supervisors or managers or senior exempt specialists who have significant latitude.
- May set direction for a major, multi-functional unit or department.
- Responsible for unit/department for budget, schedules and planning.
- Understands and meets or exceeds quality standards; seeks to minimize error rate.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts. Supports and helps to implement new ideas.
- Effectively gives and receives feedback.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field preferred
- 7+ years relevant/Quality experience.
- Manufacturing experience highly desired.
- Professional Engineer and/or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer / Manager
- Green Belt
- Certified Lead Auditor
- Proficiency with AS9100.
- Experience with AS13100 standards and Nadcam FPI requirements preferred (must be willing to complete AS13100 training if not already certified).
- Proficiency in technical drawing interpretation.
- Understanding of manufacturing/quality techniques and thorough knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques.
- Possesses skills with Quality Management systems, Quality Engineering (ASQ certification preferred) and project management.
- Possesses detailed understanding of machining processes and associated manufacturing technologies.
- Proficiency with FAI/PPAP, FMEA, and Process Control Charts.
- Minitab/JMP experience highly preferred.
- High language skills and high math skills.
- Employs high written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
