Job Description & How to Apply Below

Barnes Aerospace East Granby CRO is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the site’s Quality Management System and Quality organization. As a key member of the site leadership team, this individual will provide visible leadership for regulatory compliance, AS9100 requirements, audit readiness, customer quality and continuous improvement across complex component repair, overhaul, and New Product Introduction activities. The successful candidate will build and sustain a culture of quality, process discipline, accountability, and prevention—driving reductions in nonconformances, rework, and customer escapes.

This leader will develop a capable, collaborative Quality team; partner effectively with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain; and ensure actions are completed, effective, and sustained.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Lead, maintain, and continually improve the site Quality Management System in compliance with 14 CFR Part 145, AS9100, customer requirements, applicable regulatory requirements, and Nadcap/special-process requirements, as applicable.
  • Serve as the site’s visible Quality leader and management representative for QMS performance, regulatory compliance, product/service quality, customer quality matters, and audit readiness.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Quality organization, including establishing clear expectations, assigning work effectively, monitoring performance, and ensuring timely follow-through on commitments.
  • Ensure effective execution of internal audits, external audits, customer audits, regulatory audits, and supplier/vendor oversight activities. Promote process-based auditing that verifies how work is performed, not merely whether documentation exists.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of site processes, technical documentation, repair-station procedures, customer requirements, and the interfaces between Quality, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other functions.
  • Lead the site nonconformance, corrective-action, and preventive-action processes. Ensure timely containment, risk assessment, root-cause analysis, implementation, effectiveness verification, and communication of lessons learned.
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to improve practical, compliant work processes that build quality into the repair process and prevent defects rather than relying solely on final inspection.
  • Ensure employee qualification, training, certification, and authorization requirements are defined, maintained, and supported by accurate training records.
  • Monitor quality performance, audit results, escapes, rework, concessions, cost of poor quality, and other key indicators. Use data to identify systemic risks, prioritize improvement, and provide clear reporting to site and divisional leadership.
  • Build quality capability across the site through coaching inspection, auditing, process discipline, problem solving, risk-based thinking, and corrective-action methods.
  • Maintain productive, timely, and professional communication with customers, regulatory authorities, suppliers, site leadership, and cross-functional peers.
  • Participate as an active member of the site leadership team, balancing compliance, customer commitments, operational execution, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of progressive Quality, manufacturing, maintenance, or aerospace experience, including at least five years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated leadership of a Quality organization, including setting expectations, developing employees, delegating effectively, driving accountability, and ensuring follow-through.
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and practical experience administering, maintaining, and improving a Quality Management System.
  • Experience in an FAA Part 145 repair‑station environment strongly…
