THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION
Duty
Location:
103d Security Forces Squadron (SFS), East Granby, CT
Area 1:
All currently employed full‑time permanent and indefinite personnel, assigned to the 103d SFS of the Connecticut Air National Guard.
Area 2:
All currently employed full‑time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members, assigned to the 103d SFS of the Connecticut Air National Guard.
Must possess at least 12 months of experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-06).
Specialized ExperienceYour resume and any other supporting documentation must clearly substantiate at least 12 months of specialized experience in the following areas:
- Knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques, with responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property.
- Knowledge of police and law enforcement services requiring extensive training and proficiency to prevent or resolve offenses.
- Knowledge of investigative procedures, techniques, and methods to detect, investigate, and resolve crimes beyond patrol assignments.
- Knowledge of federal laws, regulations, procedures, and operating techniques, including pursuing and apprehending fleeing persons, making arrests, and booking procedures.
- Knowledge of Base Defense Operations, crime prevention methods, and recommending program changes to the Flight Chief.
- Knowledge and operation of automation equipment on the Police Desk, including the NCIC/GCIC terminal and CCTV surveillance system.
- Knowledge of report formats, procedures, and terminology for accurate reporting.
- Knowledge of firearms, tactics, explosive handling, and safe response to emergencies.
- Knowledge of procedures for search and seizure of evidence, securing crime scenes, and executing warrants.
- Knowledge of DoD and federal interagency protection operations for national-level leaders and special security events.
- Knowledge of emergency services, tactics, weapons, chemical agents, negotiation, building layouts, terrorist threats, counter terrorism, crowd and demonstration control.
- Knowledge of NCIC operations and reference manuals for inputting and retrieving information on individuals and vehicles.
- Knowledge of NIMS and ICD protocols to establish command and control, develop actions to contain, mitigate, and recover from incidents per HSPD‑8 and AFMAN 10‑2502.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures for accident and emergency assistance.
- Skill and ability to operate motor vehicles up to 7,000 pounds, 1 ton capacity, 2‑ or 4‑wheel drive for transporting personnel and articles.
- Skill in operating a sedan‑type or SUV military police vehicle at “hot pursuit” speeds.
All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/AFSC. The incumbent will be required to be assigned to a compatible military position within 1 year of selection. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technician school training.
