Maintenance Technician

Location:

East Granby, CT (100% Onsite) Duration: 12 Months Contract Pay range: $30.00 to $32.00 per hour on W2

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on production equipment, helping ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including extrusion lines, payoffs, take-ups, ovens, ink jet printers, braiders, hoppers, and pumps
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues to minimize downtime
• Calibrate critical equipment and measuring devices to maintain accuracy
• Conduct facility safety checks and inspections
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment records
• Coordinate with external service providers when needed
• Follow established maintenance procedures and recommend updates for improvement
• Design and build basic fixtures to support production needs
• Communicate clearly with managers, supervisors, and team members
• Partner with engineering on machine upgrades and new equipment installations
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E)
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance work area
• Prioritize and manage time effectively to complete critical tasks

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in plant or industrial maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
• Hands-on experience repairing mechanical and electrical equipment
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, crouching, twisting, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs

• Technical or vocational degree
• Forklift operating experience
• Familiarity with 5S or Lean Manufacturing principles
