Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring General Laborer workers for a materials handling and transportation company in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. In this role, you'll help unload and handle bulk materials while supporting safe and efficient operations at the worksite. If you enjoy hands-on outdoor work, working with equipment, and being part of a safety-focused team, this job could be a great fit.
WhatYou'll Do as a General Laborer
- Assist with unloading coal, coke, and limestone from rail cars
- Open rail car doors and support material handling operations
- Visually inspect equipment, trucks, and trailers for safe operation
- Perform site cleanup and general maintenance duties
- Maintain equipment inspection records and required logs
- Follow all company and customer safety policies and procedures
- Monitor work areas for hazards and assist with safe equipment operations
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to work in a high-dust environment while wearing required PPE
- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to climb in and out of equipment and work at heights when necessary
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Strong communication, reading, writing, and basic math skills
- Valid driver's license preferred; DOT Medical Card preferred
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening
