Electrician 2nd Entry Level

Pay: $36.13 – $42.42 per hour with progression to $42.42 per hour. Rotating 12‑hour shift schedule. All work performed in accordance with National, State, and Local Electrical Codes.

The Electrician 2nd position assists in factory, agricultural, and operations maintenance activities. Duties include electrical maintenance, repair, and installation on generators, rolling stock, and processing equipment.

• Set an effective pace and minimize interruptions in processing and agricultural operations.
• Participate in safety programs and training, demonstrating compliance with Company Safety and Sanitation policies.
• Repair, replace, and install new generators online.
• Use the Company’s computerized maintenance management system (SAP) to record and access maintenance information.
• Program, troubleshoot, and operate programmable controllers, distributive control systems, and interlocking systems.
• Use time effectively to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Perform timely electrical maintenance and repair on rolling stock.
• Perform other assigned work as needed.
• Work overtime as required.

• Minimum of a 2‑year Electrical Technology Degree covering AC/DC theory, PLCs, electrical construction, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Minimum 3,000 working hours in electrical work.
• Knowledge of relays, motors, and gearboxes.
• Ability to work with up to 12,470‑volt 3‑phase equipment and lower‑voltage single or 3‑phase systems.
• Experience with programmable controllers, distributive control systems, hardwired/software interlocks, variable‑frequency drives, DC drives, and related appurtenances.
• Ability to reason through problems involving routine instrumentation projects and maintenance of complex processing equipment.
• Judgment to select and use correct materials, tools, and equipment for electrical construction or maintenance.
• Knowledge of tools and instruments needed for instrument and electronic maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrate safe use of tools and instruments and accurately identify them.
• Read, understand, and apply electrical wiring diagrams, OEM manuals, schematics, and blueprints; possess required math skills.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and NEC to assure compliance.
• Read and understand Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information.
• Pass a Safety Screen evaluating ability to safely perform duties.

If the individual attains a Journeyman Class A license, they will progress to the Electrician 1st classification.
