Substitute/Activity Bus Drivers

East Grand Forks School District is seeking applicants for Substitute/Activity Bus Drivers in East Grand Forks, MN. East Grand Forks is a city with a population of approximately 8,500 and located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota. It borders Grand Forks, ND and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College.

The district's K-12 enrollment is approximately 1900 students as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12.

Terms:

Compensation per the Bus Driver Master Agreement. Substitute Pay:
Starting at $30.50/hour. Activity Route Pay:
Mon-Fri $23.60/hour and Sat-Sun $30.50/hour plus other applicable travel-related compensation which shall be administered as per the Bus Driver Master Agreement.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Commercial Drivers License with school bus and passenger endorsement
  • Successfully complete required bus driver training
  • Satisfactory health condition as certified by qualified medical provider
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid Current Commercial Driver's License with a school bus and passenger endorsement
  • Valid medical examiner's certification (medical card)
Basic Function of the Position

Provide transportation for students to ensure they arrive safely and in a timely manner.

Job Description

Safely transport students to and from school and school related functions within scheduled times. Responsible for maintaining proper student conduct during transport. Conducts safe and orderly loading and unloading of students at specified stops. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure they are in safe operating condition. When substituting for a route, Utilize the district's GPS routing system to follow assigned routes and schedule.

When substituting for a route, Accurately scan students on and off the bus using the district's student transportation system (bus tags) Provide written reports related to student transport, when necessary. Responsible for the cleanliness of the bus. Sweeping interior daily. Accomplishes and submits daily mileage reports and bus conduct reports, as required. Responsible for ensuring all accidents are immediately reported to a Driver Supervisor.

Performs related duties as required.

Bus Drivers report to the Transportation Director.
