Rocky Hill Country Day School seeks a highly qualified Part-time Preschool Assistant and Extended Day Teacher.

Founded in 1934, Rocky Hill Country Day School is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school in East Greenwich, RI. We are looking for a Part-time Preschool Assistant and Extended Day Teacher who is confident in their experience and able to:
- work with students in Preschool (ages 3-5) and Elementary (ages 5-11).
- understand and adjust to meet students’ needs.
- collaborate with our Preschool Teachers in line with how our teachers:
- engage in inquiry based pedagogy, including project-based learning and other experiential approaches, and embed mindfulness practices into the classroom experience.
- differentiate classroom instruction to address varied learning profiles.
- develop healthy, supportive relationships with students and their families.
- are comfortable with making decisions in the moment.
- eagerly collaborate with RHCD community members.
- communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues and families.
- organize and run our Extended Day program
- work part-time Mondays 8:30 a.m.
-2:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday from 1:30 p.m.
-5:30 p.m. for a total of 22 hours per week
Our faculty incorporate diverse pedagogical approaches that prioritize student-centered learning. Every teacher brings their own unique personality, specialized skills, and genuine care for students, creating classrooms that are both dynamic and welcoming. The classroom experience incorporates Harkness table discussions, inquiry-based and project based learning methodologies, Socratic discourse, and design thinking strategies to foster active engagement and critical analysis. Our learning and engagement on the waterfront transcends all academic disciplines and is intentionally woven into the community building aspects of the academic day.
Qualifications and requirements include
- a bachelor’s degree preferred
- experience in early childhood education
- excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
