East Greenwich Public Schools is seeking applications for Substitute Paraprofessionals.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Functions as part of the instructional team to assist the teacher in the achievement of classroom objectives. Assists teachers in the instruction and reinforcement of instruction of all students including those who have been identified with disabilities, individually and in small groups.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the building principal.
COMMUNICATION
SKILLS:
Strong oral and written communications skills. The capability of responding simultaneously to a variety of needs for students and staff while maintaining a high degree of sensitivity to individual needs.
INTERPERSONAL AND PROBLEM SOLVING
SKILLS:
Ability to interact with students, staff, and members of the community in a pleasing and positive manner. Ability to effectively handle issues utilizing a personable problem solving approach.
TEAM BASED
SKILLS:
Capable of working collegially with all levels of administration and staff.
PLANNING
SKILLS:
Ability to prioritize the needs and requests of students and teachers within the school setting and respond in a professional and efficient manner.

Job RequirementsSelected candidate will be required to have a current BCI with fingerprinting.
Associate's Degree or higher with completed coursework evidencing Reading, Writing and Math Skills.
Teacher Assistant certification preferred
Safety Care Training preferred, but not required.
Should have experience, and knowledge of how best to support children on the spectrum, be able to follow an inclusion plan, experience in a self-contained setting, and the ability to interact with several teachers and related service professions throughout the school day.
