East Haddam Public Schools is seeking a part‑time School Social Worker, three days per week, with experience working with young students (grades PK–5) and families. The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
- Planning for and providing direct therapeutic services such as individual, family or group therapy regarding specific issues;
- Providing case management services including, but not limited to, referrals to community resources and collaboration with other professionals;
- Providing crisis management services, including assessing for safety, and providing follow‑up care for students experiencing harmful behaviors;
- Attending and participating in Planning and Placement Team meetings and serving on student support teams and special education committees;
- Maintaining an ongoing liaison with community agencies and other resources to meet student needs;
- Referring parents and students to agencies when appropriate;
- Advocating for student services and students' best interests;
- Conducting home visits as necessary;
- Performing additional related work as required.
