Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patient conditions, including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
- Assess and manage pain, educating patients and families on pain control strategies; document interventions and outcomes.
- Develop, revise, and implement individualized care plans based on assessments and patient responses.
- Administer medications safely, adhering to the five rights, and understand medication effects based on patient age and condition.
- Ensure patient safety, document nursing actions promptly, and utilize critical thinking and sound judgment in prioritization and delegation.
- Educate patients and families through tailored teaching plans, evaluating learning effectiveness.
- Assist physicians with peri-anesthesia procedures, airway management, and cardio-respiratory assessments.
- Monitor patient status, respond to changes, and provide appropriate treatments, including knowledge of anesthetic drugs and side effects.
- Report patient status accurately for safe care transfer.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active Connecticut RN license.
- Current Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications or willing to obtain within orientation.
- Preferred:
Critical care experience. - Effective verbal and written communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
