Pratt and Whitney's Manufacturing Accounting team has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Specialist. The position will be a hybrid position based out of our East Hartford, Connecticut campus location.

The Manufacturing Accounting team is seeking a highly motivated individual for an Accounting Specialist position. This position is responsible for supporting accounting and financial reporting for P&W’s Manufacturing Operations segment.

• Support subsidiary accounting and financial reporting.
• Manage significant components of monthly/quarterly close.
• Perform advanced analytics (margin analysis, absorption, cost trends, reserve/allowance modeling).
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements and GAAP compliance for owned areas.
• Drive process improvements, implement stronger controls.
• Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Collaborate with a variety of other functional teams including but not limited to Module Center finance, FP&A, Controllers Group, Digital Technologies as needed; ensure accounting compliance upstream.
• Support Manufacturing’s control environment through SOX compliance and control review/testing; support subsidiaries with compliance matters.
• Assist in internal and external audits related to P&W Operations.
• Learn and grow your knowledge around all P&W’s costing methodologies.
• Support the PST/S4 project in designing Operations future cost accounting structure.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field required with at least 5+ years of relevant work experience; OR a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency with MS Excel & MS PowerPoint.
• Strong ERP experience (SAP & One Stream preferred).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Efficient in use of Office software (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); working knowledge of SAP and BW.
• Candidate must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of internal stakeholders.
• Strong data analytics skills with ability to work with individuals and/or team at all levels.
• Desire to learn/incorporate AI in daily work activities to improve team efficiency.
