Position Summary

The CREC Academy of Computer Science & Engineering Middle School is seeking a secondary science teacher for the  school year. Secondary Science teachers work under the general supervision of their school principal and perform essential performance responsibilities listed below.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
  • Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small‑group instruction, and student learning.
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for science, aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards, and translate lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed.
  • Maintain a safe science classroom/laboratory.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four‑year college or university in an education discipline applicable to the teaching assignment.
  • Certification in one of the following areas:
    Biology, 712 (030);
    Chemistry, 712 (031);
    Physics, 712 (032);
    Earth Science, 712 (033);
    General Science, 712 (034).
Travel Requirements

Motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to provide transportation to meetings, trainings, and professional learning opportunities as required.
