Job Details

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Own in-process and final quality for assigned programs, ensuring product compliance with customer and division requirements
Review design drawings, operation sheets, process procedures, test procedures, procurement documents, quality manuals, and inspection analyses
Support the contract review process and interpret AS9100C, ISO
9001:2008, ASQR-01, and other customer/material/process specifications
Perform internal quality audits (AS9100 audit experience a plus)
Provide quality support to the Engineering group for NPI and analysis of nonconforming parts
Interface with Customer Service to resolve customer quality issues and respond to Customer Corrective Action Requests (CARs) with effective process improvements
Support Purchasing with material procurement, special process, and approved supplier requirements
Generate and review quality metrics and trends to mitigate process risk and drive improvements
Measure and monitor supplier performance; work directly with suppliers to resolve and prevent nonconforming product
Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) using tools such as 8D and 5 Why's
Lead and support Quality Clinic activities
Maintain Quality Records to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
Implement new inspection tools and technology (CMM, vision systems, etc.)
Support continuous improvement projects and flow quality requirements to suppliers

QUALIFICATIONS — NEEDED

Bachelor's degree in a related field OR 5+ years of hands-on inspection experience in lieu of degree
Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or equivalent role in a precision manufacturing environment
Experience or strong background in aerospace/defense manufacturing with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems
Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Lean principles
Ability to validate inspections, interpret GD&T blueprints, and perform shop math including trigonometry
Proven ability to perform Root Cause and Corrective Action using 8D, 5 Why's, or similar structured methodologies
Experience interfacing with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues
Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to motivate others and drive quality solutions
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 lbs frequently, and occasionally…
