- Develop advanced process parameters to enable complex geometries with enhanced material properties.
- Investigate sources of machine variability and develop methods to eliminate observed variability.
- Execute and oversee development builds on various Additive Manufacturing machines.
- Collaborate with internal and external groups to develop whitepapers, project concepts, and responsive proposals.
- Explore the capabilities of advanced tools and equipment to characterize machines and process space.
- Develop machine installation, machine operation, and part qualification processes and standards.
- Work with RTX Business Units to understand and address their needs.
- Lead projects to advance the industrialization of AM at RTX.
- Typically requires a University Engineering Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
- Experience with Additive Manufacturing tools and processes.
- Scripting experience with Matlab, Python, VBA, JavaScript or similar.
- Hands‑on experience with metal laser powder‑bed‑fusion AM equipment.
- Basic understanding of low voltage sensors and control systems.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and hands‑on experience working with laboratory equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment focused on innovation.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field.
- Minimum 3.5 GPA desirable.
86,800 USD – 165,200 USD.
