- Work on projects that will range from engine safety, production stoppage, new/repair technology development, cost reduction, etc. to understand customer requirements and execute development programs to meet and exceed business needs.
- Collaborate with other internal engineering disciplines, engineering management and manufacturing customers as part of an Integrated Product Team to ensure the successful transition and implementation of technology into products.
- Bench-marking coating/alloy technology and processes

- BS degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related technical field
- 8 years of relevant experience.
- Be proficient in, or able to attain proficiency in, the development of advanced Thermal and Environmental Barrier Coating (TBC/EBC) chemistry and establishment of process/property relationships of advanced coating systems.
- Be proficient in application processes such as diffusion process, Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), thermal spraying, slurry, and plating as well as characterization methods (mechanical, physical & metallography) of these materials.
- Modelling experience strongly preferred
- Must be a US Citizen due to government programs requirements
- Fundamental understanding of aerospace coating application methods and process optimization tools
- Ability to build positive relationships.
- Strong communication skills
- Team player
- Highly motivated.
- Able to travel up to 10% of the time
- Able to perform in a fast paced and dynamic work environment.
- Advanced degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related technical with 5 years of experience
- Background in Thermal Barrier Coatings and Environmental Barrier Coatings, gas turbine engine alloys, and high pressure turbine design.
- Experience in testing and characterization of thin films or coatings
- Fundamental understanding of effects of environmental contaminates such as dirt, sulfur and salt on performance of aerospace materials
- Experience in data collection, data management, and data analysis methods.
- Fundamental understanding of material and process modeling
- Experience with program planning, cost estimation and scheduling in addition to meeting contractual requirements during execution is preferred.
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma tools is a plus.
